ASUS is developing its handheld gaming PC known as “ROG Ally“, And this will be the next high competitor of the Steam Deck.
I know some of you think that this is the April Fool’s joke because the company released a trailer of it on 1st April. But it’s for real, it’s not a joke and you can register to pre-order it from Best Buy.
ROG Ally Specifications And Performance
The ROG Ally has a seven-inch 16:9 display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and a 120HZ refresh rate, compared to the Steam Deck specs, which are listed as a seven-inch 16:10 display at 1280 x 800 resolution, 400 nits of brightness, and a 60Hz refresh rate. The chip inside uses the AMD’s Zen 4 architecture with the powerful RDNA 3 graphics tech seen in recent GPUs.
And this new ROG Ally is giving the same 7-inch display as Steam Deck gives, But with a higher resolution of 1080p instead of 800p with 120Hz. Another good point about ROG Ally is the fan noise is 20dB on load – it’s 17 decibels lower than the Steam Deck which runs at 37dB. ASUS Ally comes with 500 nits of brightness which is the highest as compared to other handhelds in the market.
